Beer Festivals – Post Covid

Now that the world is getting back to normal, the festivals we once enjoyed are coming back again, indoors and out. This raises questions in some people’s minds. Is it safe? Will people feel safe? Will some still wear masks or choose to stay away altogether?

From what has been seen so far, it looks like beer festivals and festivals of all kinds are having great attendance. It seems, and rightly so, that festival-goers are tired of being cooped up inside at home. There is only so much you can do at home. Many people ran out of DIY projects a long time ago. In addition, many people with children were probably going a little crazy having to entertain them and keep them active. Going to a festival where there will be socializing & entertainment (and perhaps beer), is like releasing the “valve” of stress from restrictions and mask wearing. There certainly won’t be any “social distancing” at a beer festival.

Obviously, festival-goers should apply the same common sense they used before Covid. If you feel sick, you should probably stay home and not expose yourself to other people. That would be best for everyone, including yourself. Aside from someone who is clearly not well, there is always the possibility of getting germs or catching something when in a crowd. This is nothing new. Even with a mask on or being vaccinated, you can still get sick.

When you get right down to the fact of the matter, life must go on and does go on with or without you. So, as long as you are relatively healthy and don’t have a weakened immune system, try to get out more this year and go to a beer festival or any type of festival. If you don’t feel comfortable being in a crowd without a mask on, then wear one. Just don’t criticize those who are not wearing masks. Hopefully, they will reciprocate and not criticize you
